Does West Run offer on-site security?

Yes, West Run employs on-site courtesy officers throughout the community to respond to security issues as needed. In addition, West Run is in contract with a security company that patrols the property during and after-hours. West Run is one of the only student housing communities in Morgantown with interior breezeways which are locked at all times and only accessible with an electronic key fob provided exclusively to residents of the specific building in which they live.

What is West Run's pet policy?

We love pets! West Run welcomes up to two pets per apartment. Weight and breed restrictions apply. Please inquire with the office regarding pet fees.

Is there a parking fee?

West Run offers off-street parking to residents at no additional cost! Numerous guest parking lots are also available throughout the property.

How do I get to campus?

Most residents keep their cars parked while attending classes because West Run is the only student housing community in Morgantown that offers a WVU Mountain Line stop on-site. The shuttle conveniently picks up residents on the property every 20 minutes Monday-Friday from 7am-8pm, and stops at multiple locations across campus and downtown. Late night shuttle service is also available Thursday-Saturday nights from 9pm-3am.

How do I submit a maintenance request?

Residents can submit a maintenance request on the website, by calling the office, or visiting the office in person. Our maintenance team is equipped to respond to all calls within 24 hours.

What if I have a maintenance emergency after the office is closed?

Our maintenance team is available to assist residents 24/7. If you have an emergency after office hours, please call 304.599.1907 and follow the prompts for emergency maintenance. You will be connected with a staff member who will dispatch the emergency to a technician.

What if I lose my keys?

Replacements for bedroom keys are $25, and replacements for electronic keys are $25. For example, if a resident loses their bedroom and electronic keys at the same time, the cost is $50 to replace both keys.

Is the community safe and secure?

In effort to ensure the safety of our residents, West Run employs three courtesy officers throughout the community to respond to security issues as needed. West Run is one of the only student housing communities in Morgantown with interior breezeways which are locked at all times and only accessible with an electronic key fob provided exclusively to residents of the specific building in which they live.

How do I receive packages or mail?

Mail that does not fit in the personal mailboxes is delivered to West Run’s clubhouse. Residents receive a notice that a package is available for pickup, which is kept secure prior to pickup.

What is a CA?

CA is an acronym for Community Assistant. CA’s are student residents who are employed by West Run to assist our residents while living in the community.

Your Apartment
Does my unit come with furniture?

All of our units include bedroom, living room, and dining area furniture. Bedrooms include a dresser, bed frame, mattress, desk, and desk chair. In the living room, all roommates share a coffee table, media console, sofa, and lounge chair. The dining area is furnished with a kitchen table, chairs, and bar stools for the kitchen bar. West Run also offers an upgrade option with premium furniture, cabinets, and flooring.

Can I bring my own furniture?

Residents can bring their own furniture, but must store West Run furniture elsewhere. All furniture must be returned in the condition in which it was received.

What personal belongings do I need to bring?

In effort to provide ultimate convenience to our residents, West Run provides all furniture that our residents need for day to day living in the community. Bedding, cookware, and toiletries are not provided by the property.

What appliances come with the apartment?

Kitchens are well equipped with a refrigerator, stove and oven, and a dishwasher. West Run also provides a full size washer and dryer in each apartment so you do not have to share laundry facilities with the entire building or take your laundry off-site to a laundromat.

Does West Run allow personal grills?

West Run offers residents full use of a large grilling station as an amenity at our clubhouse. Due to local county fire codes, West Run cannot permit the use of personal grills on patios or balconies.

Leasing & Rent
Are West Run leases individuals or joint?

For the convenience of our residents, West Run offers individual lease agreements.

If I sign an individual lease agreement and do not have a roommate, how am I matched with another resident?

Approximately three to four weeks prior to move-in, West Run will assist in matching you with a like-minded roommate with similar study and sleeping habits. It is important to answer all of the roommate matching questions on the lease application so you are paired with a compatible roommate.

Do you allow for coed roommates?

Yes, coed rooming arrangements are accepted, although you will only be matched with a resident of the opposite sex if indicated as something you prefer on your application. Same sex roommate matching is our standard practice.

What are your lease terms?

West Run offers 12 month leases.

How do I start the lease signing process?

The lease signing process is easy at West Run! Once you’ve toured our clubhouse and selected a unit type that best suits your needs, you can complete a lease application. Apply in person in our office, on our website, or via email application sent by a staff member. Once the application is completed and sent to our staff, it is processed to ensure the standards of our community are met. Upon approval, our leasing staff will contact you to meet at our office or coordinate an online lease signing for your convenience.

When is my rent due?

Rent is due on the 1st of each month and must be received before the 4th of each month, otherwise late fees are applied.

What is the late fee policy?

Rent that is received on or after the 4th day of the month is considered late. The late fee is $50 plus $5 per day for every day that the rent is outstanding after the 3rd day of the month.

How and where can I pay my rent?

West Run accepts credit cards, ACH checks, and money orders (no cash). We offer multiple methods of rent payment including online via the website resident portal, in person, or by mail. You can pay rent in person during office hours, or after hours via the on-site secure drop box. If paying by mail, please send to: 500 Koehler Drive, Morgantown, WV 26508.

What utilities are included in rent?

Cable, internet, water, sewage, and trash are included in your rent. Electricity will be billed individually by West Run in addition to rent. The electric meters are read at the end of each month by Mon Power, and then those bills per apartment are sent to our third-party billing service. The bills are split evenly by the occupants in each apartment, and can be paid with your rent each month.

What is a guarantor and cosigner and do I need one to sign a lease?

A guarantor is someone who financially guarantees that the lease payments will be paid to the landlord. Residents may apply to be their own guarantor, however, if they do not qualify to financially back their lease on their own, West Run requires a different guarantor. However, we understand there are circumstances when this is not a feasible option. If you do not have a guarantor, and are interested in signing a lease, please contact our staff and they will be glad to assist you in potentially offering a solution to enable you to still join our community. A cosigner is only required if the lease signer is under the age of 18.

If I pay a security deposit, when will it be returned to me?

Security deposits are processed within the guidelines of state law promptly following the move out of your unit. Your unit will be inspected to ensure that it is left in the same condition that it was received with the exception of normal wear and tear. Any outstanding charges on your account upon move out will be credited with your security deposit, and the remainder will be sent to the forwarding address provided to us.

Can my security deposit be used for the last month's rent?

The security deposit is not intended to be used for the last month’s rent, and will result in the assessment of late fees against your account.
